This one of a kind, 30mm Snow Quartz White Buffalo necklace hangs from a double spiral weave seed bead chain. The matte and opaque black seed beads and the frosted clear seed beads, along with the white of the Snow Quartz, form a classic color combination of black and white. There are 4mm round Snow Quartz bead woven into the spiral chain to add accents and texture.

The necklace is 16 inches (40.64 cm.) long. It closes with a peyote toggle and loop closure. Each end of the toggle has a 4mm Snow Quartx bead on the end.

The coordinating earrings that are included with this necklace are done in a spiral and end with a square loop of 4mm Snow Quartz beads. They are approx. 2 inches (5 cm.) long and hang from hypo-allergenic surgical steel ear wires.

Snow Quartz is believe to get us in touch with the hidden, invisible and elusive both within us and without. They help us tap deep wisdom and mysteries that have been denied and buried within our culture and ourselves.

This necklace is a tribute to the Lakota legend of White Buffalo Calf Woman. This legend says that 2000 years ago, a young woman first appeared in the shape of a white buffalo and gave the Lakota's ancestors a sacred pipe and sacred ceremonies and made them the guardians of the Black Hills. Before leaving, she also prophesied that she would return one day to purify the world and bring back spritual balance and harmony. The birth of a white buffalo calf would be a sign that her return was at hand.

I have always loved the story of White Buffalo Woman and what the white buffalo represents-peace and the possibilities of miracles. The odds of a true white buffalo being born are around 8-10 million to one.
