Oxidized copper earrings. Round, green, fish jewelry. Great for redheads!

These whimsical fish earrings are made from heat oxidized copper.The colors are the natural patinas produced by slow heating. I first cut the pieces by hand, then file and buff the edges with steel wool to ensure a smooth finish. Then, as the pieces are gently heated with a propane torch , the colors appear.

All fish earring designs are available as pendants........Simply order any appropriately shaped, listed fish pendant with a note to me of your choice of fish and its orientation....facing wearer's left or right!

Pendant will be the dimensions of the ordered model....a bit bigger than the earring!


Every now and then I add comments about hair color and earring color. These are guidelines only...... you know your own taste, so go for it. But a few hints on color suitabilities can be useful if you're buying for someone else (especially if you're male and feeling a bit lost amid all the choices).

Generally speaking, tonal contrast can be important....light earrings with dark hair , and vice versa.... (particularly in long hair where shades too close to hair color can get lost), and certain colors do seem to favor particular hair shades....green for redheads, blue for blondes for example, but again, it comes down to whatever turns you on.....so don't let me bully you

I spend the latter half of the Northern winter in New Zealand (where, of course it's summer).

My mother's town (Whangarei) is at the inner end of a long harbor and at the town basin there are cafés, bars and gift shops with a lot of local craft work. Some years ago I came across a display of copper wall plaques of fish...they were a little overly ornate for my taste, but I liked the concept. Since I essentially deal in marketing color I work with simple geometric shapes, so I stylized and miniaturized to come up with my fish designs........This particular, popular model was my first internet sale so it holds a special place in my affections!
