As a hobby, I have always liked to create unique items. Over the years I have made stained glass sun catchers, magnets, jewelry, wall hangings, candles, and the list goes on... As the economy started its downward spiral, I lost my job as a graphic designer. With 3 + 2 kids, & 3 dogs, I needed to work, but really needed flexibility. With no job prospects in sight, I decided to try and turn my hobby into a business. But something was missing in the products I had created in the past. They were really great, but lacked the uniqueness I was going for. I needed to design something that was one of a kind, eco friendly, and gave back in some way. After lots of soul searching, brainstorming, and red wine :) Crystal River Designs was born!
I grew up on Glen Lake in Glen Arbor Michigan, adjacent to the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lake Shore. Good Morning America recently gave Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lake Shore, the title of "Good Morning America's" #1 Most Beautiful Place in America. I named my business Crystal River Designs after The Crystal River, which winds through Glen Arbor and connects Lake Michigan to Glen Lake. My designs use crystals & like the flow of the river, there is a new design around every bend.


At Crystal River Designs, we create earth friendly products from reclaimed ~ recycled fabrics. One of my favorite designs is the "OK" Flip Flop. (One of a Kind) Using reclaimed embroidery I create one of a kind designs on denim, & a variety of other fabrics, giving you a design that is truly "OK" !
