Mexican $5N coin pendant mounted in 14 kt gold filled bezel attached to a bail that is made of gold links of chainmaille. The pendant is slightly larger than 1 inch, about 27mm (coin is 25.5mm) in diameter and dangles about 2 inches (about 51mm) from the necklace. The gold plated necklace is 19 ½ long and can be adjusted to 18 inches, 17 inches, and 16 inches. The necklace is completed by a gold plated lobster claw clasp. The coin has been mounted so that the most decorative side of the coin is facing up which is an image of "Ring of the Serpents of Sun Stone".

The reverse (back of coin): The center has the face value of $5N, where N stands for Nuevos Pesos or New Pesos and the year, 1992. Right of center, the Mexican mint mark "M." Stylized image of the "Ring of the Serpents of the Sun Stone engraved into the outer stainless ring. There are several theories regarding the Sun Stone, it has been theorized to be an Aztec calendar, or has a religious significance related to the God of the sun and used as a ritual altar.

The obverse (front of coin) State title, coat of arms, The National Shield with the inscription "Estados Unidos Mexicanos" (United Mexican States) forming a semicircle above it.

The peso (sign $) is the currency (MXN) of Mexico. The literal English translation of the Spanish word peso is weight. The Mexican Nuevos Pesos are the new coins replacing the old peso. This started in 1993 (dated 1992) as a result of hyperinflation in Mexico; $1 New peso for every $1000 old peso.
The nuevo peso denominations were bimetallic, with the 1, 2 and 5 nuevos pesos having aluminum bronze centers and stainless steel outer rings, and the 10, 20 and 50 nuevos pesos having .925 silver centers and aluminum bronze rings.
