This 1 cent Fijian coin (year 2006) is set in a 14 kt gold filled bezel, decorated with colorful Swarovski crystals representing Fiji's many colorful and beautiful flowers in their Botanical Gardens; each crystal has been wire wrapped with silver colored wire. On the reverse is an image of a Kava Bowl. On the obverse (front of coin) is an image of Queen Elizabeth II. The necklace is made of gold plated chain and is 19 inches long adjustable to 18 inches, 17 inches, and 16 inches. Pendant is 18mm in diameter.

The Republic of Fiji consists of about 320 islands, located in the Southwestern Pacific ocean. After 2 military coups, Fiji left the British Commonwealth in 1987. However, it returned to the British Commonwealth in 1997. The 1 cent denomination is no longer minted in Fiji. Starting in 2008 Fiji had issued a new set of coins that does not include 1 and 2 cent denominations.

The designs on many of the Fijian coins highlight the culture of these Pacific Islands. The 1 cent bronze metal Fiji coin shows an image of a Kava bowl. Kava is the traditional herbal drink placed in a special bowl called the Kava bowl which is shared during social gatherings. During celebrations the native Fijians sit in a circle with the head Chief taking the first drink, then the bowl is passed around the circle to share in the Kava drink.

All of my coin jewelry is set in bezels, they are never defaced in any way such as drilling holes, soldering connectors to coins, hammering, or bending. My coins are left in as is condition.
