This necklace is perfect to wear in the spring and summer season. Pink and white is what reminds us of the warmer seasons with the little carved mother of pearl birds singing to celebrate the coming of spring. Mother of pearl is referred to as nacre, an iridescent layer of material which forms the shell lining of many mollusks. Mother of pearl can be used in its natural state or bleached and dyed for decorative use. The shimmering layers within the shell is still visible after dying or bleaching which makes mother of pearl so popular. This necklace is made of pink colored and white Mother of Pearl gemstone nuggets and is 15 inches long with a 2.75 inch extender. The white Mother of Pearl nuggets are approximately 9 mm x 12 mm. There are sections of pink Mother of Pearl carved birds with Strawberry Quartz gemstones on either side of the pink birds. The carved mother of pearl birds are approximately 15 mm x 6 mm.
