Is this a sample of parts from a watchmakers toolbox, or the collection of a mechanical madman?

Either way, it is a truly eclectic and fascinating bunch of tiny watch parts, suspended in a crystal clear resin dome. There are hands, gears, cogs, wheels, rings, pins, and so much more! The inky black resin background lends a dark yet ethereal aura to the piece. Three separate layers of resin (black background, resin dome cabochon, a layer of crystal clear resin coating both) give this piece a depth and shine which is difficult to catch in photos, but beautiful in person!

The pendant is 15/16" wide, 5/16" thick, and just over 1 1/4" long including the length of the bail.

It will be nestled in a red organza drawstring bag suitable for gift-giving, then lovingly and carefully packed for shipping to anywhere in the world.

This pendant includes one of my first attempts to suspend heavy items within resin. The timing of adding inclusions is crucial and very subjective; this cabochon worked out well.

Time invested includes the time spent performing the three separate pours of resin, removing any bubbles multiple times and making sure the piece had the opportunity to cure properly (including controlling the temperature, humidity, cover from dust). The cabochon was one pour, the black resin was the second, and the third pour was clear resin to coat and seal the cabochon into the resin setting; the three layers gives this pendant a visual illusion of great depth.
