This eclectic necklace of imported beads has 17 different beads in it! The buri bead made from the buri tree and imported from the Phillipines was my inspiration for this necklace.--it is the large round bead with dark brown veins of color. Also in this design are "yak bone" from India, horn, tigers eye, wood, coco, and more bone beads. This is a stretch necklace and is approx. 19" long. Will make an interesting, original gift. . . it comes in its own gift box.

The inspiration for this necklace was the buri seed bead. These are the four round beads with dark brown veins of color in them. I found these beads for the first time in a thrift store in Phoenix, AZ several years ago. I then learned that they are made from the buri tree seeds and imported from the Phillipines.
I ordered some more of them and found these unusual beads wear well and look great in beaded necklaces.
To design the necklace, I then added a collection of bone beads and some horn and coco filler beads along with tigers eye. What a great mix!
