This one-of-a-kind vest, created using panels of geishas as the focals, also incorporated strippiecing to surround the larger blocks and fill in the spaces between.

The unusual color combination stems from the focal fabric itself, which I have simply picked up in the coordinates. Bright orange, royal purples and avocado tones, as well as deep yellows all combine for a wonderful eye catching piece of wearable art.

There are button and charm embellishments here and there across the surface and I have used a machine embroidery blanket stitch on many of the seam lines.

The lining is lime acetate taffeta with the name Criscione subtly printed all over it. It probably was from a manufacturer of mens ties or vests. My label is sewn on the lining over a side seam.

It should fit anyone from a size 14 to 18. Back measures 23" from underarm to underarm. Each front panel is 11.5" from center front to underarm seam, making the entire bust measurement 46".

The front has no closure, and is not meant to meet at the front, so would easily accommodate a 48 bust or wider. The armholes are very deep and will easily accommodate a sweater or full sleeved blouse.

Back length is 22" from neck to hem. Front measures 26" from shoulder to bottom points.

I think I was Japanese in an other life, as everything Oriental intrigues me.

I found the fabric with the geishas in this wild color combo and felt it needed a special garment to show it off...thus the vest.

I have many of these in my own wardrobe, and they go great with jeans and a blue workshirt, or a turtleneck or T.
