Plus sized denim jacket with asymmetrical hemline, bordered with silver plated chain...hand sewn in place.

A plus sized jacket to fit a size W20 - 22 or 2X.

Made from a medium weight denim with metallic silver pinstripes at 1/2" intervals, the entire outer edge of the jacket is outlined in silver plated chain, hand sewn on every other link. The chain also edges each sleeve at the wrist.

An asymmetrical front closing and hemline add couture touches to what outwardly appears to be a rather tailored jacket. The closures are interesting in that you have to turn a little bar to release the loop that holds it together.

Each side seam is the same length, 12" long from underarms to hems, and the back dips to a center point.

Once the jacket is opened, however, the lining disproves the austere exterior by being made of brightly colored silk ties! Each tie was gently taken apart, washed, ironed and adhered to an iron-on interfacing. I made up various widths of fabric by sewing the ties short end to long end, over and over again until there were enough pieces to cut the entire garment. The lining is very soft and comfortable to wear.
