This whimsical California Sea Lion is a OOAK (one of a kind) sculpture, handmade with artist-quality polymer clay. "Playful Pup" is poking his head up out of the water, getting a peek at the strange humans who've come to gawk at this adorable animal. He has black glass eyes, and his pelt is painted reddish-brown with several layers of heat-set artist oils. His real whiskers were naturally shed by my unwittingly generous cat.

He'd look great in a curio cabinet, displayed hanging out with dolphins or mermaids, or next to you on your desk -- always grinning up at you when you need a smile.

2 inches (5 cm) high, 2 inches (5 cm) wide (sideways), 1.25 inches (3 cm) wide (from the front) without whiskers, 3.5 inches (9 cm) wide including whiskers.

Inspired by a trip to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk to visit the unofficially named California Sea Lion Bachelor Colony.
