This beautiful leather mask features a golden spiral symbol in the center of the forehead. Its elegant simplicity would perfectly complement a costume for a masquerade, themed wedding, Halloween, costume party or larp (perhaps a mage character?). When not being worn, it can be displayed as an art piece. The spiral is one of the most elegant forms found in nature, and is an ancient symbol of the sun.

The spiral symbol mask is dyed a rich mottled reddish brown, and sealed to protect it from moisture. The markings were hand-carved into the leather. The "crows' feet" add character and interest to the eyes. The mask was sculpted from a single piece of vegetable-tanned leather using a technique similar to cuir bouilli ("boiled leather," as used for historical armor), but with a more pliable and less brittle result. It is lightweight and slightly flexible, and is designed to fit the average face. The ties are golden organza ribbon.

The shipping estimate for the U.S. reflects the furthest shipping zones (east coast, Hawaii, and Alaska). Buyers on the west coast (near me) might expect to pay a few dollars less in some areas. I will refund the difference if the shipping cost is more than US $2.00 less than the estimate. (This shipping difference refund can only be issued if you have a verified account with Paypal. International buyers: Item will be sent via First Class International. Priority Mail International is an option; contact me before purchase for a price quote.
