The idea for these images came from my great grandmother's framed silhouette artwork. Considering the fact that she grew up in the depression and reused every single thing that entered her home, I believe that she made them herself. I used to stare at the little boy and girl endlessly as a child because the detail and sharp contrast of black on cream background stunned my senses in a really good way. Whenever I look at these pieces it takes me back to that simpler time of being really impressed with design in a way I never would get over.
