This necklace is designed to be eco-friendly, avoiding the use of gold which mining process inflict damages to the environment. Silver is generally more eco-friendly as they are mostly recycled from industrial waste and common materials like photographic films. Argentium silver is a precious and yet "green" metal as chemicals are required to clean the "fire stains" that arises due to heating during manufacturing process. Moreover it is highly tarnish resistant and stays brilliant over years, requiring hardly any professional polishing.
