I was watching the original version of Coco Chanel movie biography and totally awed by the pearls the ladies of the era wore. It made me wonder why pearls are simply not so much in vogue anymore, except with the brides. I once abhorred pearls too because they have been cheapened by mass productions and the standard designs are too readily available. Then I realize I was missing something. Pearls can look expensive and regal, classic and elegant, by the unique signature of handmade and style.
