The sunset background is hand-painted with the palm trees and ground appliqued on top. The borders are pieced. A quilted line marks the horizon.

This comes with a rod and is ready to hang on a single nail.

I wanted a project that would showcase some of my hand-painted fabric in a non-traditional design. The effect in the blue in the upper right corner was created by sprinkling salt on the fabric when it was painted.
