Instead of using shapes and colors to make a pattern, a watercolor quilt blends small floral squares by arranging the darker and lighter fabrics in different places. The darker fabrics represent the mountains with the lighter fabrics being the evening sky as it becomes pink.

Beads were hand-sewn at every corner of every square, with extra pink and red beads around the sun.

I spent several hours rearranging the 2" watercolor squares until I came up with this design. I don't want to add the dimension that comes with quilting so I "tie" it by sewing a bead in every corner of the squares. This one I did do some quilting and added extra beads around the setting sun.
