This one comes directly from the nerd in me. Few books have entertained me more than "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy," by the late, great Douglas Adams. This necklace is an homage.

In the book, it takes the computer Deep Thought 7½ million years to compute and check The Answer, which turns out to be 42. Unfortunately, The Ultimate Question itself had long been forgotten.

The 42 was taken from an old measuring tape. It's securely fixed to a silver tone frame bead, which comprises the base of the pendant. Handmade lampwork glass and other glass beads make up the rest of the necklace. The clasp is a simple but sturdy Hill Tribes piece, handmade in Thailand.

The necklace is 17 inches long. The pendant portion is a little over 2 inches in length.
