Description
Fennel is a hardy herb which is usually grown as an annual for its aromatic seeds and fragrant young leaves. It enjoys full sun and ordinary garden soil with added compost. It also enjoys cool weather, but grew nicely all summer long, here in South Louisiana. The butterflies were abundant and it was enjoyed by the birds, especially the cardinals this summer.

Fennel is easy to grow from seed. They can be planted directly into the garden or planted in individual pots. My seeds were open pollinated and grown organically.
