Sometimes I am inspired by things I see in nature and sometimes by mistakes, but sometimes it's just an observation while I am working on something else. For the chocolate bon bons, I was making an ice cream cone and wanted to put some melted chocolate on the top of it. I found a brown glass that came out really shiny once I fired it. It looked great on the ice cream cone and I wondered what it might look like if I did a chocolate bon bon. So I tried the coconut one first, actually. Once I did the right shape and coated it with white dots, it really did look mouth-watering. So I tried some others. The raspberry swirl came next. Then the mint truffle. I just kept going. My favorite is the cherry cordial. It's just brown glass, but that shape is indistinguishable. You expect to take a bit and find that cherry and all that gooey syrup!
