This flattened focal bead has been pressed with a leaf vein texture tool to give it a ribbed look and feel. The bead measures 40mm long by 25mm at the widest point, by approx 10mm thick.

A brand of reactive glass called Double Helix was used to create the swirling blues and purples. The bead was then encased in clear glass for added depth.
The base of cream glass peeks out slightly at one end.

All of my lampwork glass beads have been properly annealed in a digital kiln to remove thermal stress from the glass. I then clean and smooth the bead hole with a diamond bit.
