The back of the plate has a contrasting floral paper in pink and deep yellow. I love the contrast between the front of the plate, the edge and the back.

The edged of the plate is hand painted with several layers of lavender paint. The edge of the plate has several layers of polyurethane hand painted

The back of the plate is sprayed with several layers of polyurethane to seal it.

Plate measures 8 5/8" from side to side.

The back of the plate is signed, numbered, and has instructions for caring of the plate.

Cleaning instructions, wipe with damp cloth only. Do not submerge the plate in water.

This plate is made in the reverse decoupage method. We start with a clear tempered glass plate, that is new and apply the design to the back side of the glass. Several layers of glue are applied to the back and the edge of the plate to seal it. The edge is then painted in a color of craft paint that compliments the design, frequently we custom blend the paint to get the desired shade. Then we apply several layers of polyurethane to the edge and spray polyurethane on the back to seal the plate.

The plates are primarily for decoration. You can find plate stands to go with your decor. Home improvement stores also sell plate holders that securely hold the plate so it can be hung on the wall without damaging the plate.
