This ornament is made using a rather interesting tool. The dome is created on a burned out lightbulb! How's that for recycling???? The ornament is made using a soft blue clay covered by thin slices of an blue flower cane. A band of white pearl clay wraps the domed ornament as which is just perfect for personalizing. Twisted gold polymer clay form ropes to separate the band area from the rest of the design.

After the clay is cured and removed from the lightbulb, a hanger and backing sheet is added. Each ornament is signed and dated. A tiny clear glitter glaze is added to the faux ribbon portion to enhance and add interest, then a clear sealant is added for protection.


Because these ornaments are handmade, the size may vary slightly but the average is approximately 3 inches across by 1 1/2 inches deep. Because of the unique properties of polymer clay, the ornament is lightweight.
