A new twist on the same old terra cotta? Add a punch of color to your decor or as a gift for someone special with this beautiful candle stand. Made from a terra cotta rose pot and saucer, each candle stand is unique - no two are ever exactly the same. A texture medium and paintbrush are used to create the raised designs, then each candle stand is hand-painted, glued and sealed. Each candle stand is signed and dated by the artist.

These terra cotta candle stands actually came about quite accidentally because of a 50th wedding anniversary celebration. The theme was magnolias and we wanted pillar candles to flank the cake. While playing around with different ideas, I flipped the pot upside down and set the candle on it. Not quite the look I wanted, so I added the saucer. Perfect!

The original two had raised textured magnolias that wrapped about half way around the rose pot. The poppies shown on this pot also wrap just over half way around the pot.
