Deep Aqua Mississippi Millifoiri Ornament Ornament AF1061

Product Description
This ornament was handmade by me from unwrapping the package of Premo (my preferred brand of polymer clay), through the process of building the canes and finally to slicing, layering, baking and finishing the final product.

(NOTE: Other state ornaments can be ordered.) This Mississippi Ornament measures approximately 3 3/4 inches long by 2 inches wide and starts with a deep aqua base, then a leaf cane, a burgundy/pink complex flower cane, a pink complex flower cane and a white ghost cane were very thinly sliced and layered to create this one-of-a-kind ornament. The ornament edges were lined with gold leaf pin, then a ribbon and bead were added for hanging.

Polymer Clay Canes are based on milifiori, a glassworking technique where glass rods are combined in patterns and fused then sliced to make many beads with the same design. Polymer clay canes are made in the same way by arranging logs of clay in patterns then filling in the gaps with translucent clay to create a round, square or triangular "cane". The great thing about canes is that once you make one - or buy one of mine - you can use slices cut thin and rolled onto a clay background to make ornaments, beads, pendants, brooches, cover pens, votives, eggs, cover picture frames or anything else that will fit into your oven. You can use slices of different sizes, cut from the same cane at different stages of reduction.

Your order will be sent by First Class U. S. Mail and I'll be happy to combine them with any other purchases. FOR INTERNATIONAL BUYERS¦ Please email me for exact postage charges for your order. I ship to many countries and I only charge the exact postal fees, no additional handling charges for customs forms, but if there is a duty or tariff charge that will be your responsibility. Your items will be shipped First Class International.
