The rectangular pendant was hand-formed and a copper bale was added. It measures 2.5 inches long by 1.75 inches wide. Three different kinds of beads are used to create the 20 inch necklace. The largest beads are hand-formed from polymer clay then a stamped design is impressed into the clay. After curing, a copper metallic acrylic glaze is applied then wiped off, leaving the color in the impressions created by the stamp. Copper accent beads with copper spacers combine with small oval pearls to complete the design. A copper toggle closure put the finishing touch on this elegant one of a kind necklace.

This design is made up of three "ghost" canes, a flower ghost cane, a leaf ghost cane and a butterfly ghost cane. These canes have many names but the most common "ghost" comes from the fact that they are created using a translucent clay, then each section is outlined with white clay. The transluscent cures to a very soft almost sheer state so that you can see what is behind it. This gives it a quiet elegance that is hard to obtain in any other way.

I make all of the canes used in my designs by hand in the Harrison Hollow Designs studio. Each cane is carefully built, section by section, then reduced to fit the piece being created. Each cane and each piece is individual and unique.
