This decorative pen holder is the perfect addition to your desk or work table or for the person on your gift list who would rather be by the sea! It would also be great for paint brushes or kitchen utencils.

The internal structure of this pen holder is a piece of pvc pipe with a wooden disc cut to fit the bottom. A background blend of blue polymer clay is bordered on the top by palm fronds and on the bottom with swirls of sandy beach. Shells and starfish along with some seagrass complete the design which does run all the way around the pen holder. After the pen holder is cured, an acrylic glaze and gold highlights are added to bring out the details. A clear acrylic glaze is added to protect and bring out the richness of the colors.
