Copper Mokume Gane Hollow Domed Ornament AF1032

Product Description
This ornament is made using a rather interesting tool. The dome is created on an old glass Christmas ball! How's that for recycling????

The freeform design of this ornament is based on the Japanese metal working technique called mokume gane. Rich shades of cream, brown, copper and translucent clays are layered with copper leafing. A series of tools are used to impress designs creating a unique pattern. Thin slices are used to create the one-of-a-kind pattern. A beaded wire hanger adds the finishing touch.

Each ornament is signed and dated. A clear sealant is added for protection. Because these ornaments are handmade, the size may vary slightly but the average is approximately 3 inches across by 1 1/2 inches deep. Because of the unique properties of polymer clay, the ornament is lightweight.
