A light and warm scarf in great winter colors!

A silk scarf in cream and tan, this handwoven scarf is great for cooler seasons. Featured in the scarf is yarn from the wonderful natural dyer, Kristine of A Verb For Keeping Warm. The dyed yarn is called "Filigree". This is the first scarf to feature this yarn - a total of 3 were made, all with different patterns and different colors, making each a One Of A Kind. The weft of the scarf, the yarn that goes across horizontally, is a white silk/wool blend, adding warmth and lightness to the overall scarf.

The pattern of the scarf is a simple plain weave with an accent of twill at the ends. While plain weave is the simplest of weaving patterns, it is one of the more challenging to do well! The slightest change in tension can really show in the fabric. I have put an in-progress photo in the list so you can more clearly see the pattern as I was weaving it up in my studio. The ends are secured with an Italian hem stitch, followed by a short fringe.



As a handmade product, please expect some variation in the cloth. Scarf dimensions = 10" x 68" (25.4cm x 173cm)

Care instructions: hand wash with warm water, steam press or press with warm iron.
