I tried silver clay a few times and I just didnt like what I did, but bronze clay was so much more economical to use and I loved it-what fun, I thought about bronzing grandpa while he watched jeopardy but after the clay dries for 15 or so days it goes into the kiln, when it comes out it has to be sanded and then polished by hand.. Instead I did some bronze fern leaves and made several necklaces for easter to try them out and everyone loved them. Heres one for our etsy shop with a sterling silver chain and a faceted 12 mm green amethyst I bought here on etsy. The pale green stone looks nice with the golden bronze and with the silver. The bronze fern leaf measures 3/4" x 1 3/4" and the sterling silver chain is 18" long. The bronze leaf is coated with museum wax to keep the bronze from turning dark. The chain has a handmade hook and eye clasp.
