Truly gifts from the sea, the mellow colors in this unique piece will look great in any season. The main cabachon is fossilized coral agate from Indonesia in shades of pale peach, orange, rose and cream. The slices of coral look like blossoms emerging from the deep.



The upper cabachon is a rare stone called a Barite Rose Stone. This one is most likely from Oklahoma due to its rare terra cotta color which is not found in rose stones from other regions. Scientists believe they started forming 250 million years ago when an ocean covered the state. I spent at least an hour going through the collection of a rock hound in southeast Oregon to select this very rose-like one that I knew I could make into a piece of jewelry some day.



I've taken tiny Japanese seed beads in coral and terra cotta shades and captured the stones on a deer skin back. Even tinier sparkling silver colored seed beads surround the outermost edge.



An 18 inch sterling silver rope necklace picks up on the texture, but doesn't overwhelm the feel of this western style pendant.



The pendant is about 1.75 inches at the wides and 3.5 inches long.
