This necklace involved using my fancy new jump ring maker and flex shaft to make the rings I needed from sterling silver wire. I've always bought my rings already made in the past, but decided to invest in the new tools and make my own rings to lower the cost of my chainmaille pieces. Silver is so expensive these days!

The necklace is made with over 560 of those handmade rings that are each then opened, woven into the pattern, and closed. It takes a while :-)

The pendant is a gorgeous green amethyst that is a particularly dark green one. It's a fancy cut, faceted trillion with checkerboard facets on the back side of the stone which gives it a lot more sparkle than an ordinary trillion cut would have. The stone is internally flawless without inclusions. It is in a one-of-a-kind sterling silver hand wire sculpted setting in an asymmetrical design.

The stone is 30.61 carats and is 20.68 mm X 20.86 mm X 12.92 mm.

The necklace is adjustable from 16 inches up to 22 1/2 inches using the extender chain. There is a Swarovski Crystal faceted drop on the end of the extender chain to finish it off and a really pretty sterling silver hook on the other end. I can make the extender longer or eliminate it entirely if you prefer.

Like many of my pieces, the chainmaille can be made in other metals, such as steel, copper, gold, aluminum, and others. The pendant can be changed to another stone and sculpted design as well.
