Inspiration/Story Behind This Product
Working to combine the ancient art of kumihimo with a strong sense of wearable art.

Kumihimo is the ancient art craft of Japanese braid making. The historical use of the cords dates back to the samurai as both a functional way to wrap their armor, carry their swords and dress the horses. Kumihimo cords are used as ties on jackets and obijimes, which are used for tying on an obi or kimono sash.

I have been inspired to use this art craft to make wearable art jewelry. I hope you'll agree that this art form transcends time and is very much a part of today as it was in yesteryear.
