I've always been including to be dismissive of carnations; you see them everywhere, and while I love their spicy scent, I had never spent much time really looking closely at them. While I was focusing on creating work for the Floral Landscapes show, I decided these would be a good challenge, and was delighted to find so much more to see than I ever expected in their creamy white layers.
