I adore dahlias, and couldn't resist buying a bunch of bright yellow cactus dahlias at the grocery store one day. As I worked with the photographs, I decided that the explosive yellow of the petals was overwhelming the beauty of the structure of this bloom, which became much more elegant in black and white.
