Lumen Print: Blackberry Leaf and Dandelions.

This is a giclee reproduction, 8x10 print, matted with museum grade 8-ply alpharag and framed with a classic wooden frame and non-glare acrylic.

Lumen Prints are a unique alternative photographic process - a piece of photo paper is topped with an object, usually organic, and a piece of glass, and left in the sun. No chemicals are added, but the accumulation of UV light eventually (between hours and months) creates an image on the paper, which must then be removed from the light or the image will change/fade. For my 2010 SofoBomo project, I did a large number of lumen prints, some with the supervision of my young daughters, who found it fascinating. The originals must live in a dark storage box, but I rephotographed them so I could provide prints of these strange beauties.
