This brown-and-silver-themed pin is made from 2 pieces of vintage jewelry, which I've combined for a warm, fun effect. Where stones were missing, I added brown, glass beads. The result is my "Float" pin.


The base is a 1930s plastic, oval pin in a tortoise shell finish. The 2nd component is the remnants of a silver-and-rhinestone piece.


The pin is fragile and would do best if worn on a loose-weave surface, like a sweater--or simply clipped around the strap of a purse for decoration. Plastic becomes brittle with age, and this piece is still in very, very good shape.


The pin measures about 2" across.

I love vintage and antique items. When I was given a box of random jewelry pieces, some broken, my imagination went wild.
