This photo was taken in Massachusetts in the summer of 2007. I found this spectacular pile of broken headstones, and I got in as close as I could to pull in as much rock and Earth as possible. Even without the color effects I've added, it's very dramatic.

I have a varied aesthetic, but truly, cemetery art is one of my favorite subjects. I keep promising my Guilds that I will put more of them up. (I really should get on that!)

I have always found cemeteries to be both very tranquil and very exciting places. I love visiting them. I even want to write a book about funeral customs some day.
