Hors Doeuvre Swan Chrome

Product Description
This item is called an hors d'oeuvre swan. The holes in the swan's back would hold toothpicks, which in turn held various finger foods. Its purpose was for serving such foods at parties.

It's just a really neat looking item, whether you are a collector or just someone who is looking for interesting decor pieces.

The company most known for making these was Napier; however, I was unable to confirm that this is a Napier piece. I saw no mark anywhere on the item. I've cleaned it up pretty well and looked it over thoroughly. Though it looks an awful lot like the Napier pieces, down to the red bakelite ball, I don't want to make that claim without knowing for sure.

This particular piece is in fair-to-good shape. There are some areas of pitting and rust on the bottom tray. Other than that, it looks really good. Someone may be getting a very special piece at a very special rate!
Inspiration/Story Behind This Product
This swan is just plain neat to look at. I debated with myself for a while before deciding to put it up for sale. I don't know if it's a sense of nostalgia I get from it, or if it's just the shape and the metal contrasted with the red ball, but it's just a very cool piece.
