Vintage buckle: Cobalt blue * Basse-taille center square surrounded by brass & black Greek Key design. The design under the transparent enamel can be seen only if you turn the piece so that the light goes accross the buckle. I would classify the buckle as in good vintage condition. There are several pin point divits on both pieces and a scratch on one. There is also one spot where the enamel did not quite flow up to the brass. Both parts of the buckle are marked "Czechoslovakia". I believe the piece is c. 1925 - it is definately pre WW II

Size: Each part is about 1-1/16 inches square.

*Basse-Taille (bas TIE yuh) translucent or transparent glass enamel applied over an engraved, chased or stamped metal ground plate.

I'm not sure that the metal is all brass. the back looks like in might have been gilded - the solder joins in particular
