Casting over natural objects leaves a perfect imprint, especially in metal clay which picks up minute detail. The encased red maple leaf is 6 layers of metal clay paste which is(.3 grams). It is applied with a brush until the desired thickness is achieved. The lengthy process requires drying between layers.

The picture with several objects show other leaves that I have listed as well as the sterling silver bail that comes with the silver maple leaf.

During the firing process the metal clays particles fuse together burning out the binder and the organic object leaving 99.9% pure silver. The organic binder cinters out before it completely fuses together.

The leaf pendant comes with a sterling silver bail that has a drop of sterling on the end to form a ball. The loop of the bail is a generous size so that it lays well on the chain and can be bent closer together once it is attached. The bail measures 1/2 inch in length.

I have etched my name on the back before firing to show that it is my original work.
