Set of 8 lampwork beads in purple and white on a dark purple-black base. The effect is created by rolling the bead in the flame so you can see the layers of purple and white; every bead is different.

This is a matched set in different sizes. The largest bead is approx 8mm x 12mm (3/8 inch x 1/2 inch) and the smallest are approximately 5mm x 7mm (3/16 inch x 5/16 inch). The beads are temporarily strung on craft wire with little crystals as spacers.

All beads are handmade by me in my studio in Dundee, Scotland, using soft glass - Effetre, CiM, Vetrofond and Reichenbach. These beads were made on a 1.6mm (approx 1/16 inch) mandrel, and all beads are annealed in a digitally-controlled kiln.
