Lancaster Rose, sometimes called Topeka Rose, is a well-loved traditional quilt pattern. It is usually done in blues on a pale or white background. This is a strong graphic design with a background of black and white 100% cotton fabrics. The flower motif is made of layers of hand-painted papers and fabrics.

Acrylic paint, commercial fabric and hand-dyed fabric, commercial and hand-painted papers, photographs, India ink on 11x11 inch wood panels. Handmade black frames. Hanging hardware included.

This is not a digital print or photograph. It is an original work. Each mixed media collage is individually handmade.

A wood panel is first prepped. Backgrounds are then painted and the fabrics and/or papers are meticulously applied. Some designs may have several layers of paint, fabrics and papers. And, some have additional accents of India ink or paint. The finished design is preserved with five to eight layers of acrylic varnish. The resulting piece looks very much like glazed tile.

o The back of each wooden panel is painted and an identifying label is signed and glued to the back.

o Each collage is framed with a custom-made wooden frame painted black.

o Hanging hardware is mounted. Your mixed media collage arrives ready to hang.

o The artwork is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity for your insurance purposes.

o All designs are my own.
