This vintage wooden ornament is from the Steinbach company in Germany. It appears to be of a postman complete with a letter. The letter says, An meinen lieben Schatz, or To the one I love. His outfit is blue with gold trim and he also wears a red hat with gold trim. In his other hand is a horn. I took a picture of the bottom stamp, which states: Steinbach, Volkskunst and Hohenhameln, Holtzgalanterie. Made in Germany. He is approximately 2.75 inches tall by 2.25 inches wide.

This little guy was found, along with the rest of the German Wooden Ornaments that I have listed at an estate sale in Nashville, TN. These folks had a wonderful collection of oddball things from around the globe. You could tell they had traveled to many different places and always brought back something unique and authentic with them. They had a large collection of Christmas decorations, many of which were from Germany.
