This cowl was a real work of love. I knitted it in an intricate lace pattern and then added a sweet crocheted edging. The real design coup is the addition of two sets of buttons assembled like cuff links with a button on each side. One set is a 1960s vintage marbled white and the other set is a 1960's marbled black. You can use one set or both sets to fasten the cowl/scarf.

Because the lace has natural holes, the button cuff links can be used in infinite ways to make the scarf longer or shorter, or to give it an asymmetrical look.You can also wear the scarf as a Puritan collar. I've shown several variations, but you'll think of lots more as the mood strikes you.

The yarn I used is a soft and luxurious Merino wool - my very favorite yarn - in a color like Revlon lipstick red. It's a real classic and flattering to everyone.
