This is a gorgeous hand-dyed roving/top from a very soft, silky Falkland (corriedale) wool. This stuff is SO soft and fluffy!! It has a lovely sheen, drafts beautifully, and is a joy to spin. Perfect for next-to-skin creations, and sure to spin up beautifully. I have found that I am able to spin a very fine yarn with Corriedale...the finest Ive ever spun. Just perfect for spinning lace and sock weight yarns, and anything else!

I use professional acid dyes designed for protein fibers. These colors will last and last, and will be perfect for your next small project. I am a "scientific dyer", and I mix my colors entirely from the three primaries: red, blue and yellow, plus black. All of my colors are created by percentages, and yet all color combinations are a surprise!
Inspiration/Story Behind This Product
Lilacs are my favorite flower. The smell of them in the air is the most beautiful sign of spring possible, if you ask me. Not only that, but on May 15, 1994, they were in full bloom, the day I brought my daughter home from the hospital. Every spring, the lilacs remind me of that day...15 years ago! These colors in this roving are just glorious. Every color of lilac...deep French lilacs, lavender lilacs, and white ones. Just fabulous for spring spinning!
