This body of work is a reductive examination of each item. The objects are divorced from their connections to the everyday. The photographs are to be seen as only forms and an exploration of how light can affect an object. They display my interest in a variety of subject matter. Every image is open to interpretation by the viewer. I select items because of their detailed pattern, form, or because a simple curve catches my eye. I manipulate light, cropping, and angle of view to bring attention to overlooked everyday items. They are individual studies; therefore a theme or relationship between each of them does not exist. The square format is meant to engage the viewer to take a thorough look at the object. This scale draws the viewer in and emphasizes the subtle curves of the objects.
