Rust and dirt adding to its patina, green and white paint worn thin in spots over the years, the big vintage Sinclair gear lubricant can in this 8x10 art photo still proudly bears "Dino", the oil company's famous dinosaur mascot. The roughed-up old metal Sinclair Oil can fits in perfectly with the other old filling station and garage bits and bobs seen in the photograph's background: a headlight, a gas pump.
I love the gritty, masculine quality of this photograph (and to think a girly girl took it!), hence the name. I think this would be a great addition to an auto body or repair shop!
Professionally printed on archival-quality 8x10 photograph paper, this retro-style photo has a white border for easy framing and to protect the image itself. I sign, date, and number each photo on back prior to mailing it.

Inspiration/Story Behind This Product
There aren't any Sinclair oil stations where I live, but out on Route 66 (where this photograph was taken), there were quite a few! The first time we actually saw a Sinclair station--complete with Dino the dinosaur out front!--I almost squealed with delight.
Sinclair began utilizing all sorts of dinosaurs in their advertisements beginning in 1930, suggesting that the oldest oils and lubricants, created from oils resting in the ground while dinosaurs roamed the planet, were best. The apatosaurus (brontosaurus), with his clear good nature despite being enormous, became extremely popular with the public. According to Sinclair's website, people "equated him with power, endurance and stamina, the prime qualities of Sinclair products." A star was born, and christened "Dino", the apatosaurus became--and has remained--the "face" of Sinclair oil.
