Product Description
Carrigaline souvenir pin dish with Blarney Castle, Cork in the background. Circa mid to late 1960s.

The scene is two young Irish Travellers resting, one leaning against a signpost while the other is on their horse drawn wagon. Blarney Castle can be seen in the background.

It is 4.5in diameter. Gold gilt rim and a circle of raised Shamrocks around the edges of the dish. The dish is an off white/pale cream color.

There are no cracks. chips, crazing but some minor wear to the gilt. Overall in good condition.

A nice display piece with a historical theme and memories of a happier time for the Travelling people.

For those not aquainted with Irish terminology the term Travellers refers to an ethic Irish group who have their own ancient language (Shelta), beliefs and social customs. Their Irish name is "an Lucht Siuil" which literally means "the walking people" in reference to their nomadic lifestyle.
