This unique, handcrafted bracelet features glass beads and freshwater pearls in shades of purple and periwinkle blue. A pretty sterling silver toggle clasp completes the "Grapeade Bracelet".

Three faceted glass ovals in transparent purple gently reflect the light in this pretty bracelet. Two elliptically shaped beads lie on either side of the center bead. These periwinkle blue beads have a subtle overlay of purple. Their unusual shape adds a great deal of visual interest to the center portion of the "Grapeade Bracelet".

The interesting shapes continue with purple freshwater pearls that have been purposely drilled off-center to create an up and down pattern when strung. I love using beads like these because they bring so much energy to a design.

Periwinkle blue and purple diamond shaped beads follow the pearls. These beads have a subtle crosshatched pattern and are the same color as the elliptically shaped beads

Small (4mm) Japanese "miracle beads" are spaced between all the main beads. Japanese miracle beads have a Lucite core which is then finished in a mirrored silver plate and coated in multiple layers of vibrant lacquer. As light passes through the multiple layers of lacquer, it is reflected back through the lacquer due to the mirror like properties of the plating. The reflected light gives these beads the illusion of great depth. The effect is very lovely.

The "Grapeade Bracelet" is finished with a sterling silver toggle clasp.

This will date me, but when I was a little kid, the drugstore had a luncheon counter. They served grapeade there from a clear plastic machine that made the grapeade bubble up like a fountain within it. I loved the grapeade and was always hoping my mom would want to take a break in her shopping and stop for a treat at that luncheon counter. This bracelet is a contemporary tribute to that cold, delicious treat.
